National Spotlight PBS Documentary Showcasing Chautauqua Institution To Debut Jan. 31

CHAUTAUQUA - Chautauqua Institution officials are preparing for a large influx of hits to its website and calls to its switchboard the morning of Feb. 1.

The reason? Thousands of people across the nation are going to be looking for more information after what they saw the night before.

''Chautauqua: An American Narrative'' will debut at 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, on about 90 percent of PBS affiliates nationwide. About 2.5 million viewers are expected to tune in, and Thomas Becker, Chautauqua Institution president, said the coast-to-coast exposure is ''a very big deal.''
