Winter is finally here! Instead of hibernating in the house this year get out there and enjoy the weather! There are plenty of events coming up right here in western, New York and plenty of winter sports to enjoy. There is skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding with the children.
You can make fun out of the upcoming winter season. Holiday Valley expects to open by this coming weekend just in time for the beginning of December. The ski resort is located in Ellicottville with 58 downhill slopes and plenty of lodges to warm up in. They also have a tubing hut for those non-skiers and lessons if you would like to learn to ski. Cockaigne Ski Resort is located right on the western New York’s snow belt in Cherry Creek. They average about 275 feet of snowfall a year. Cockaigne has events taking place all season long. NASTAR racing is one of their main events. Jelly Roll lessons are available for all ages and allow the parents to have time to be off on their own skiing. Another great resort to visit is Peek’n Peak Ski Resort in Findley Lake. They guarantee 100 days of skiing and snowboarding this year!
